Where does our data go, and what can the tool do without us?
Quick answer
Each build gets only the tools and data its job needs, and that scope is written down before we build. Where a vendor is involved, you hold the account and the keys. We agree the approval level for every action, keep readable logs of every run, and give your team a stop control.
What a tool can do without you is set per workflow, not once for the whole tool. There are three levels, most human first:
- Human-led. The AI prepares the research, draft or options. Your team decides and acts. This fits new ground, high stakes, and anything where being wrong is expensive.
- Human approval. The AI completes the workflow and queues the result. Your team approves, edits or rejects it. This fits client-facing work, outbound, and anything with your name on it.
- Fully autonomous. The AI runs on a schedule and surfaces exceptions. Your team keeps the logs and the stop control. This fits high-volume, repetitive work that is cheap to correct.
At every level, autonomous included: scoped access, readable logs and a stop control.
Inside the tool, the chat can read the data and run a step when someone tells it to, and actions confirm before they fire. Readable logs record every run, and the stop is one your team holds.
On the data side, the scope comes first. Before anything is built, we agree what AI does, what stays human and what the tool connects to, and that agreement is written down. The tool gets access to what its job needs and nothing beyond it.
Where a vendor is involved, the account and the keys are yours, so access to that vendor stays with you whatever happens to the tool.
