Freelance SEO & GEO specialist for e-commerce

Own SEO and GEO delivery for two live e-commerce projects, then help us turn what works into a repeatable client service.

Apply for the role
The role

Own the project, not just the checklist

Tasken is looking for a hands-on SEO and GEO specialist with strong e-commerce experience. You will manage two active projects and help us build a service we can confidently deliver to more clients.

The work goes well beyond audits and recommendations. You will own it from priorities and implementation through reporting, learning, and the next action.

Responsibilities

What you will own

  • Set and maintain a clear SEO and GEO plan for each project.
  • Prioritize technical, on-page, content, internal linking, and authority work based on likely impact.
  • Work with our team to turn recommendations into shipped changes.
  • Track performance, explain what changed, and decide what to do next.
  • Keep projects moving without waiting to be managed task by task.
  • Document useful processes so strong work can be repeated across clients.
GEO

Treat it like an experiment

GEO is still changing. We need someone who is curious enough to test ideas, disciplined enough to measure them, and honest enough to stop what is not working.

  • Run focused experiments around content structure, entity clarity, source quality, product information, and answer coverage.
  • Track visibility across relevant AI search and answer experiences.
  • Record the hypothesis, change, signal, and conclusion for each meaningful test.
  • Turn useful findings into repeatable playbooks without presenting uncertain signals as facts.
Results

What good work looks like

  • Every project has a prioritized plan, a visible backlog, and clear ownership.
  • Important recommendations reach the site instead of sitting in documents.
  • Reporting connects shipped work to movement in qualified organic visibility, non-brand demand, conversions, and AI answer presence.
  • Tests produce useful learning, including when the result is negative.
  • Clients understand what happened, what we learned, and what comes next.
Fit

This role may suit you if

  • You have delivered SEO work for e-commerce sites and can show what you owned.
  • You understand technical SEO, content, internal linking, category and product page optimization, and measurement.
  • You can work inside the tools and the site as well as advise the team.
  • You communicate clearly with clients and teammates.
  • You are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, then testing those decisions.
  • You care more about useful evidence and shipped work than impressive-looking reports.
Useful extras

Helpful, not required

  • Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, or another major e-commerce platform.
  • Experience with international or multilingual SEO.
  • Comfort with analytics, Search Console, crawling tools, schema, and experimentation workflows.
  • Experience evaluating visibility in AI answer engines.
The offer

What you get

  • Part-time freelance work with room to grow as the service grows.
  • Ownership of real projects and a direct line to the founder.
  • A small team that values clear thinking, fast implementation, and honest reporting.
  • A paid trial before either side commits to ongoing work.
